Join us from 4 - 7 and have Juan from Maja taste you on Two spectacular offerings from Spain; Galiciano Godello & Solorca Tinto. HISTORY Galiciano :  Started in 2000 by José Rodriguez, Grupo-Galiciano winery is five wineries under one main winery umbrella. The five properties (Alaia is made from one of them) exist throughout Spain and are managed by the same winemaking team, with their headquarters located in Rias Baixas. By having the same team manage each individual property, Grupo-Galiciano is able to have consistent, innovative winemaking within each unique Spanish appellation.  The resulting wines are a mix of old and new. Old, meaning they focus on indigenous grape varieties like Mencia, Tempranillo, and Prieto Picudo; new, meaning they use modern techniques to bring out the inherent fruit qualities of each grape. The result is wines that can consistently maintain the traditions of each wine-growing region while impressing international markets.. Tasting Notes Godello:  The wine has a lovely golden depth to it, with a pleasant mineral tone that carries on to a satisfying finish. The fruit, which is also consistent from nose, to palate, to finish, is led by white peach with a little ripe apple and tropical touches of pineapple and banana.  Food Matches Godello:  Excellent with seafood of any type. History Bodegas Vina Solorca:  Bodegas Viña Solorca, founded in 1998, own vineyards extending to 70 hectares, located in the heart of DO Ribera del Duero, in Roa. One of the family’s descendants, D. Víctor Balbas Arroyo, is today the owner and general manager, and María Carmen Alba, his oenologist, is responsible for the care of the vinification and ageing of the wines.The soil is typical of the Ribera del Duero plateau with a mix of gravel, clay and limestone. Great importance is placed on the work in the vineyard with controlled yields through careful crop thinning in June. The vines, cultivated both in low bush and trellised on wires, are all Tempranillo, known locally as Tinta del País, and have an average age of 40 years. The winery vinifies 700,000 kgs of pampered, very carefully selected, hand-picked grapes. Tradition merges with the highest technology during the vinification where rigorous quality control and continuous investigation set the working guidelines. The cellar contains small, stainless steel vats, each one destined to receive the grapes of a particular plot or a different age which are vinified separately depending on the ripeness of the grapes or age of the plot as well as the soil in which the grapes are grown. The free run wine is racked into new French and American oak barrels (about 800) where ageing takes place. The skins are pressed in a high quality pneumatic press to produce a press wine which is often added to the free run wine. It is fined with egg white and submitted to a light filtering before bottling. We are Bodegas Viña Solorca's appointed UK agents for the Zarús wines.  Tasting Notes Tinto:  This wine has an intense cherry red color with a purple sparkle. This wine holds many scents, but are dominated by aromas of dark fruit and flowers.  Food Matches Tinto:  Try this Red with Mild chesses to start your meal.

Mango-with-black-pepper flavor The spicy vodka commemorates the second anniversary on Aug. 29 of Hurricane Katrina hitting New Orleans. The company will donate 100% of the sales - an estimated $2 million - to go to the charities.
