B.R. COHN Silver Cabernet Sauvignon  $19.99

The Silver Label Cabernet Sauvignon reflects a blending of grapes grown from the B.R. Cohn Olive Hill Estate Vineyard and select North Coast vineyards. This combination offers full, rich flavors of berry, cassis and black cherry with hints of vanilla in the background.
Aging with French oak adds complexity and depth, resulting in a high quality Cabernet Sauvignon with great value.

B.R. COHN Olive Hill Cabernet Sauvignon $59.99

B.R. Cohn Winery has consistently produced one of the premier Cabernets in California from the Olive Hill Estate Vineyards where soils warmed by underground natural hot springs and gentle coastal breezes create a unique microclimate resulting in ideal growing conditions for Cabernet Sauvignon.
The warm growing season, along with a light crop and small concentrated berries at Bruce Cohns' Olive Hill Vineyard, gave us one of our best Cabernets. This wine has much of the ripeness of 2004 with very pronounced aromas and flavors of plum, black currant, and cherry. As always, this exceptional vintage was fermented in small lots to ensure the character of each part of the Olive Hill Vineyard. This vintage was aged for 24 months in only the finest tight grain French oak. A bouquet of fine oak, anise and mint combine with supple tannin, a long finish and strong fruit to produce a well-balanced Cabernet that will age gracefully for years to come and drink well at your table now.

Geyserville 40th Vintage Zinfandel  $36.99

Located on the western edge of Sonoma's Alexander Valley, Geyserville was Ridge's first source of red wine grapes, other than Monte Bello Ridge. The first vintage — 1966 — was an essence. The combination of Geyserville's climate, gravelly soils, and varietal mix (zinfandel, carignane, petite sirah, alicante, mataro, etc.) imparts elegance and definition not usually associated with zinfandel. It's hard to describe a "typical" Geyserville. Each vintage is unique, distinct, extraordinary. Yet they do have elements in common, including the blackest of blackberry fruit, peppery spice, tar, cedar. The term "layered" was invented for Geyserville. And the wines change, re-inventing themselves in bottle, developing more nuance and complexity as years pass. The '73 still shines. Most ageworthy of all Ridge "zinfandels," they can be (witness the '97) magnificent when young. Go taste a Geyserville. Any vintage will do.

Hedges 3 Vineyards Red Mountain Estates $26.99

The Flagship of our estate wines, The Three Vineyards is a classic Red Mountain wine showing deep, dense color, firm yet supple tannins, and well defined acidity. The Three Vineyards is a blend of fruit from our three estate vineyards: Hedges Estate Vineyard, Bel'Villa Vineyard, and Red Mountain Vineyard. Always a majority blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, this wine is suitable for drinking upon release but will also reward those with the patience to age it.

Villa Mt Eden Cabernet Sauvignon  $14.99

Chocolate, plum and toasted oak aromas spill out of this dense, ruby-hued wine. Flavors of black cherry, mushroom and a hint of smoky cedar are nicely integrated into the rich palate. The Cabernet Franc and other Bordeaux varieties add intensity and additional layers of complexity. The lingering, medium-full finish is handsomely balanced with fruit, oak and tannin.

      Coppola Cabernet Sauvignon $15.99

This is our second year producing Diamond Collection Cabernet Sauvignon. For a decade we’ve bottled Claret—a robust red blend largely comprised of Cabernet—but we wanted to offer a single varietal Cabernet Sauvignon as well in order to show off the elegance of our grapes. We combine fruit from appellations as far north as El Dorado and as far south as Paso Robles, where soils range from sandy clay loam to black volcanic
obsidian. Likewise, some of our vineyards experience a unique diurnal temperature pattern; extremely hot days are tempered by very cool nights, which slows the ripening process and enhances the flavor and complexity of the fruit. The 2006 growing season was long and cool, allowing the grapes to hang
on the vine weeks longer than usual. As a result, this wine has immense concentration, rich color, and profuse aromatics that give way to layers of enduring flavor.

   Smoking Loon Merlot $15.99

This Merlot is dark garnet in color and has aromas of fresh basil, blueberries, and Bing cherries. With good
richness without being too heavy on the palate, the flavors of fresh cherry pie, sweet plum, and soft
cinnamon spiked cranberry dressing finishing with notes of rich, vanilla French oak and delicate cherry and
strawberry flavors. This wine is packed with flavor yet still has a delicate body. This is a versatile wine that can be served with bruschetta over toasted French bread or cherry preserves over Brie served with water crackers as an appetizer. You could serve this wine with salmon over wild rice with toasted almonds, grilled chicken on top of a spinach salad with walnuts and dried cranberries, or thyme roasted pork chops over mashers.

   Sterling Vintners Merlot $15.99

The Sterling Vintner's Collection Merlot is a clear ruby color with aromas of ripe blackberry, jammy red fruit, vanilla, nutmeg, dark chocolate, and toasty oak. On the palate are flavors of rich black fruits; ripe black cherries, blackberries and a lingering finish of fine grain tannins.

   Alaia Red $8.99

Very attractive deep ruby color to this wine, with violet highlights; the relative density is a good
omen. ON THE NOSE: Quite a lot of fruit here, dominated by sour cherry and sweet cherry, some black currant, figs, and just a hint of lime.

   Jon $24.99

Dried rolling tobacco, covered in a light coating of cherry-caramel topping. Give this wine
a chance (i.e. three hours or more) and the nose will eventually reward you with an enticing
blend of tart and sweet.

   Rombauer Zinfandel $32.99

Rich, vibrant, and juicy, this wine boasts aromas of cherry and wild berry, with soft notes of black pepper. Tightly packed layers of cranberries, wild berries, and ripe cherries flow together with a touch of allspice for a rich, full flavor. Moderate tannins show in the rich, mouth filling finish.

Used Automobile Parts $49.99 ea (Set of 3 $139.99)

A medium plum, red color, this wine has aromas of dried fruit and cassis, followed by hints of vanilla, light smoke and leather notes that jump out of the glass. The palate is a mouthful of boysenberry and blackberry compote over a matrix of silky tannins integrated with tobacco, cola and a lush sappy vanilla. This wine finishes with a hint of cinnamon and clove spices. This release is a wonderfully-complex balance of all five
Bordeaux varietals grown in the Napa Valley. Crafted with free run wine, racked into 70% new French oak,
racked by gravity five times and bottled unfined and unfiltered under a Vino-seal closure..

   Inaki $15.99

The variety Red Bordeaux Blend, implies any blend using any or all of the five traditional Bordeaux varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec. As such, this is used worldwide, whether for wines from Bordeaux, Meritages from California and Canada, some Super-Tuscan wines. This Blend is big and rich just awesome !!!!!

   Monsanto Chianti $25.99

This Old World classic conjures up cravings for focaccia and antipasto. Built on a backbone of fine tannins, it is a wine ready for the Italian table but also worthy of a few more years of cellar aging. With subtle fruit, harmonious balance and dry finish, it is a fine example of the Italian winemaking tradition.

   Nuvo Sparkling  $29.99

Nuvo Captures The Essence & Taste Of France. Be The First To Nuvo. The vodka is bubbly and...um...pink. Some may think that this is a decidedly feminine attribute and that's mostly because it is. The bottle even says "for her" on it and tastes of a touch of peach, a touch of strawberry, a touch of passion fruit. That's a whole lot of touching.

Tanqueray Rangpur Gin IS HOT - Of course we had it before anyone else in Milford  !!!!!

"Rangpur", a new product from Tanqueray Gin.

Tasting strongly of limes, Rangpur is not, as you might first assume, a lime-flavored Gin. Rangpur starts out life like any traditional gin – a grain-based neutral spirit distilled in a "continuous still".

It’s during the final distillation, which takes place in a copper pot still, that rangpur limes, ginger and bay leaves are added - along with the more traditional gin ingredients - Juniper berries and coriander. In contrast, a flavored gin, vodka or rum would have flavor added after the distillation, prior to bottling.
Filling a niche between the Super-premium Tanqueray no. Ten (introduced in 1999) and the classic Tanqueray London Dry Gin (introduced when your great, great, great grand-pappy was a lil’ baby), Tanqueray Rangpur is the lightest in the line at 41.3% abv (Tanqueray is 43.1%, while 10 weighs in at 47.3%).

The result of the innovative ingredients, as well as relatively low ABV bottling, makes for an incredibly smooth Gin. So smooth, that drinking it straight or on the rocks is highly recommended. Rangpur Gin will make a martini that will convert a vodka martini drinker.

While the bartenders at the club are  pushing Rangpur cocktails mixed with cranberry or ginger ale, neither did it for me - I preferred it straight.

Rangpur is now available only in in select bars and liquor shops in Connecticut, Maryland, Delaware and Washington DC. Of course that Select shope in Milford in Pond Point Wine & Spirits !!!!

SKYY 90  - Of course we had it before anyone else in Milford  !!!!!

    Skyy 90

Skyy Vodka entered the market boldly claiming to abolish, or at the very least diminish, those horrific hangovers so often suffered by the people who enjoy their product. By producing a vodka that was nearly free of the headache and hangover inducing congeners, the by-products of distillation, Skyy made some waves in the vodka market. The company’s newest creation, Skyy 90 Vodka, has taken their quest for purity even further.

Though the Martini has been around since the late 1800s, the incorporation of Vodka into the cocktail didn’t take effect until several decades later. Since then the Martini has proven itself as a cultural phenomenon, first combining pure male sexuality with sophistication when Bond ordered his shaken, not stirred. More recently, the Martini has been embraced by women world wide with the advent and subsequent overkill of the Cosmopolitan. They come in a rainbow of colors and incorporate a cornucopia of exotic fruits and flavors, but the Martini is still a mainstay of the modern cocktail bar.

In conjunction with the evolution of the Vodka Martini itself, Skyy has endeavored to create a product that will be similarly transcendent in style, taste, and most notably, distillation technology.
After a decade’s worth of research and a considerable architectural undertaking, Skyy 90 is the first vodka to be produced from an innovative $25 million site. From this state of the art facility they have produced the first ever vodka to be distilled to 200 proof, thereby eliminating all of the unsavory by-products associated with the production of vodka. I know what you’re thinking : “Wow, 200 proof vodka! Where do I buy this fantastic elixir?”

Unfortunately for you (and my dear reader, me too), after the distillation Skyy 90 is then blended with water from the Sienna Mountains to a more reasonable 90 proof – equivocal to 45% alcohol by volume. Though you may have noted the additional 5% alcoholic volume compared with traditional Skyy vodka, rest assured that the smooth finish and clean taste that are the trademarks of Skyy Vodkas remain in tact. In short, it is a pure vodka at a fair price.

Skyy 90 boasts an unusual new bottle that reinforces the concepts of modernity and luxury, both of which are echoed in the shiny, new, internally computerized factory from which this vodka pours. Clearly marketed towards the discerning drinker, Skyy 90 is making a bold play to be the vodka of the Modern Martini.
In an attempt to be the crowning jewel in the evolution of the modern martini, Skyy 90 possesses a smooth taste followed by a clean finish. Some have compared it to classic brands such as Belvedere and Grey Goose. From the company it keeps and the utterly indulgent drinkability of the product itself, it seems that the monetary and scientific investments made in to Skyy 90 have paid off.
