Mr. Robert Parker, well-respected critic and wine writer for The Wine Advocate, praised our 2005 Rutherford Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon calling the premium wine, "One of the great values in California Cabernet Sauvignon (believe me there aren't many of them)..." Parker also recommended our Rutherford Ranch Rhiannon and Rutherford Ranch Chardonnay stating,
"All of these wines are amazing
bargains."
Rutherford Ranch Chardonnay Napa Valley
This characteristic Chardonnay starts off with aromas of freshly picked apricots and sweet honey. The fruit theme continues with scents of crisp green apples and just peeled lemon zest followed by hints of vanilla and crème brulee. Full bodied, with beautiful balance, this Napa Valley Chardonnay with flavors of ripe peach, pear, vanilla and crisp Myers lemon are perfectly balanced leaving your palate with a clean, crisp finish.
Food Recommendation: This Chardonnay is perfect for a summer afternoon - slightly chilled it is refreshing to drink this wine on its own or while grilling fresh salmon or sea bass with fresh herbs.
Winemaker's Notes: The long summer weather was mild and moderate, encouraging extra growth, increased berry size with heavier and tighter clusters. This cooler climate was perfect for Chardonnay and some say the grapes have the best flavors since the replanting of the vineyards in the late
1980's.

Rutherford Ranch Sauvignon Blanc
Enticing aromas of fresh grapefruit, fig and gooseberry intertwine perfectly with pleasant mineral notes in this classic Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc. The flavors are crisp and full, showing bright, juicy grapefruit, freshly picked honeydew and Myers lemon zest.
Food Recommendation: Our Sauvignon Blanc, being a very food-friendly wine, is a terrific choice when served with appetizers such as artichoke dip, fresh vegetables or a seafood platter. This wine is a great choice to serve with Saffron Paella, Jambalaya or along side a grilled chicken Caesar salad or fragrant Greek salad.
Winemaker's Notes: Sometimes we just have to pay tribute to the weather gods, who provided us with some spectacular conditions and made this one of the shortest growing seasons on record for the past 20 years. Although being one of the shortest growing seasons, it managed to produce the third largest harvest in history.

Rutherford Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon
Our Napa Valley Cabernet abounds in aromas of blackberry, black currant and plum. With a solid and pleasing core of Cabernet flavor, this wine comes across with rich fruit flavors of black cherry and full ripe raspberry. The plush texture gives way to the gentle undertones of vanilla leading to a long, satisfying finish.
Food Recommendation: Our Cabernet Sauvignon is the perfect companion to all grilled or roasted red meats as well as pork. For an easy but elegant meal, combine fresh chopped rosemary and thyme with a sprinkle of garlic salt and ground pepper.
Winemaker's Notes: The growing season began with a relatively cool, rainy and late spring, providing a slow start to vine growth. The cool weather continued, with a pleasant summer and few heat spikes encouraging extra growth and larger berries. Indian summer arrived later than normal but just in time, building much needed sugars.
