Mionetto Novello. HISTORY Markham:
With 350 acres of vineyard strategically located in several of Napa
Valley’s best growing regions, Markham Vineyards selects grapes
from several microclimates to achieve balanced and rich wines.
Knowledge and experience are combined with Mother Nature to
produce grapes for Markham’s award winning wines. Our ranches
allow us to focus on ‘estate’ designate wines here in our tasting
room, while additionally creating consistent blends each and every
vintage. Winemaking is a Del Bondio family tradition. Bryan's grandparents
settled in the Napa Valley over 100 years ago. His father, Al, worked
at Inglenook for 45 years and taught his son about the unique and
challenging art and science of winemaking. His mother, Marie, also
spent 40 years at Inglenook.
Bryan's formal education was completed in 1977 when he earned
his Bachelor of Science degree in Viticulture from the University of
California, Davis. In 1977 Bryan joined Markham Vineyards as
General Manager, and in January of 1988 was promoted to
President. When you visit the Winery you may run into Bryan's
children and possible future Markham employees, Lauren, Lina &
Peter. TASTING NOTES Markham: This wine feels like a vacation! Let the tropical floral and fruit
aromas take you away. The honeysuckle, white peach and citrus
zest in the nose are mimicked in the mouth with crisp flavors that
refresh, with a rich, viscous mouth feel.
Food Matches Markham : This Sauvignon
Blanc will be a great pair with your favorite meal or
for your Holiday get-togethers.
HISTORY Novello: The Mionetto winery, producer of Prosecco, is located in the Veneto region of Italy. The Veneto is famous for the Prosecco grape and the ancient city of Venice.
The Prosecco zone, located in the Veneto, is comprised of an area between the towns of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene. This is the only place in the world where the Prosecco grape grows.
In the sunny hillsides just north of Venice lies Valdobbiadene: a generous land of ancient traditions where time seems to stand still and life proceeds at a peaceful rhythm. A land where everything - wine cellars and vineyards, taverns and ancient villas, churches and piazzas - is authentic, romantic and marked by a tradition of gracious hospitality and fine cuisine. Valdobbiadene, beloved by Trevisian and Venetian nobility of the past for its mild climate and breathtaking scenery, today is inextricably tied to its most famous product: wine from the Prosecco grape. The Mionetto family has been producing Prosecco wine in the very heart of Valdobbiadene since 1887. Their great passion, dedication and skill have made Mionetto one of the most appreciated wines in the world, placing it at the top of special request lists in chic locations from New York to London to Tokyo. Sergio Mionetto, the master vintner and esteemed wine connoisseur, personally oversees every step of the processing, from grape-picking to bottling, thus ensuring the quality standards that have earned international recognition, awards and accolades. The Valdobbiadene winemaker's art is full of long-standing traditions which the Mionetto Company has preserved, including the ancient custom of using string-tied corks, a rustic characteristic of the Valdobbiadene wines of the past lovingly maintained by Mionetto to this day.
TASTING NOTES Novello: 50% Merlot, 50%
Corvina. A celebration of each year's harvest, Mionetto Novello is young and fresh with a strawberry aroma. The taste is reminiscent of black cherry with a hint of watermelon and a soft fruit finish.
Novello is a "New Style" wine. Do not age.

MATCHES Novello: The perfect complement to your Holiday turkey and cranberries, pumpkin ravioli and most traditional holiday cuisine. Serve with a slight chill, about 55 F.

This ain't your Daddy's Grenache. This is a wine about pleasure. Subversive pleasure. Not everyone needs to approve in order for YOU to have pleasure. Winemakers will tell you that Grenache is a bitch to grow. And, it's a bitch to make. It's a wine that can easily be vapid, but potentially as profound as wine gets.
The Bitch is from Barossa. It's mainly Northern Barossa fruit. Mainly bush vine, but also some trellised vineyards. Chris Ringland makes the wine. The wine sees no oak. The objective of the wine is to provide pure, explosive, unadulterated, hedonistic, uncompromising, juicy Grenache.

Rombauer
Vineyards Carneros Chardonnay is a rich,
100% malolactic fermentation Chardonnay with layers of
tropical fruit, peaches, and pears. The fruit opens into
creamy textures of apples and pears that glide across the
palate. Hints of citrus and light oak tones highlight the
wine's lingering finish.
"We have a particular style that
we've developed with that
wine. I wouldn't call it buttery per se, but it is rich. Maybe
some people might think it has buttery descriptors. We say
it's fruit forward and that the oak is very integrated into
the wine. Probably texturally it seems buttery;
it's thick."
The Rombauer family has over 30 years of winemaking
experience in the Napa Valley and is dedicated to family,
land, and community.

Chardonnay has a light
straw color with a
glint of gold. Its
aromas are reminiscent
of green apples and
the faint scent of
apricots. There is
also the clean scent
of mineral that some
tasters would describe
as being
"flinty." On
the palate, the
flavors closely
resemble those of the
aromas, but with a
very slight buttery
finish as well as the
subtle hint of
vanillin from the
French oak in the
background. The wine
has good depth, with
an ideal balance of
fruit and crisp
acidity. A fresh,
silky finish completes
what we believe is an
outstanding Napa
Valley Chardonnay.

A bit of a grassy note creeps into the lengthy finish and suggests that it serve with herb-poached fish
